Rotational motion prescribed to nodes (*boundary_prescribed_motion with DOF=5,6,7,8) of deformable shells and beams affects only the rotation DOF of those nodes. There will be no affect if the nodes have no rotation DOF, as in the case of solid element nodes. This is not the way to prescribe rotation of a body. Another way to say it is DOF=5,6,7,8 in *boundary_prescribed_motion_set prescribes nodal rotational DOFs, not body rotation about a particular axis in space. To achieve the latter, nodal translational DOF must be prescribed. This is easily achieved if the axis is parallel to the global x,y or z axis -- one would use DOF= 9, 10, or 11, resp., and use OFFSET1 and OFFSET2 determine the location of the axis of rotation.
