Updates to Volume I between December 3, 2025 and March 12, 2025

We describe in the following how Volume I of the DRAFT User's Manual has changed since the last DRAFT manual. We categorize the changes into New and Error Fixes and Clarifications. We exclude typo fixes and prosaic rearrangements from this document.

Getting Started: Added to the response for SW4 in the Sense Switch Controls section how it acts for d3dat.

*AIRBAG_CPG: Added field BLOCK to Card 1 and Remark 9.

*ALE_MAPPING_FROM_LAGRANGIAN: Added to the purpose that this keyword is now supported for 2D. Also, added that the mapping file is supported for both ALE and S-ALE; previously it was only supported for ALE. 

*ALE_MESH_INTERFACE: Added last line to purpose saying that this keyword is supported for ALE and S-ALE.

*CONTROL_ALE: Added *LOAD_SEGMENT to list of boundary conditions in the description of EBC = -2.

*CONTROL_DISCRETE_ELEMENT: Removed CP, TC, and TFAC from Card 4. Added HT_COEF and ATM_TMP to Card 4.

*CONTROL_FORMING_ONESTEP: Added IDRAW to Card 1b.

*CONTROL_FORMING_SCALE: New keyword.

*CONTROL_FORMING_TIPPING: Added last sentence to purpose about this keyword being supported for solid and shell elements. It was always supported for shells. The solid element support is new.

*CONTROL_SOLID: Added sentence to the description of COHEQ about the cohesive quality check only applying when the material model has ROFLG = 0.

*DATABASE_D3MAX: Updated descriptions of OUTPUT = 8 since it now includes a third state. Updated the sentence about OUTPUT = 8 and 9 to include the third state of absolute maximum stress/strain. Added Remark 5.

*DEFINE_DE_BY_PART: Added HT_DE, INT_TMP, SPH_CP, TE_COEF, and HT_CND to Card 2. 

*DEFINE_DE_TO_SURFACE_COUPLING: Added Card 5.

*DEFINE_PARTICLE_BLAST: Added SMOOTH to Card 3.

*DEFINE_SHELL_SWITCH: New keyword

*DEFINE_STOCHASTIC_VARIATION: Added PID_TYP = 2.

*ELEMENT_SEATBELT_RETRACTOR: Added second paragraph LCFL description. Added Remark 11.

*FREQUENCY_DOMAIN_ACOUSTIC_BEM: Added sentences to descriptions of RESTRT = -3 and -30 about which METHODs these are supported for. Note that METHOD = 4 is new, but the other listed METHODs were previously supported.

*INCLUDE_STAMPED: Added INCOUT = 4.

*INITIAL_ALE_MAPPING: Added sentence at the end of the purpose about this keyword supporting S-ALE. Added to Remark 6 that coupling penetrations from FSI are now in the mapping file.

*INITIAL_DETONATION: Added sentence at the end of the purpose about the SET keyword option only being supported for ALE and S-ALE. It has always been supported for ALE but is now additionally supported for S-ALE.

*INTERFACE_COMPENSATION_3D: Added METHOD = 9. Added FXNSID and TRRNSID to Card 1a.2.

*SECTION_ALE2D: Added ELFORM = 15.

*SECTION_SOLID: Added IDAM = 0 and 8 to Card 2b.2. Added to the description of ISC = 1 that it is deprecated.  

Error Fixes and Clarifications

*CONTACT_OPTION_...: Added Remark 3 to Card 4: AUTOMATIC_SURFACE_TO_SURFACE_COMPOSITE/LUBRICATION.

*CONTROL_ALE: Fixed the description of EBC = -2 to say defined with instead of such as for the list of boundary conditions because it only occurs for the listed boundary conditions.

*CONTROL_SHELL: Added Remark 11.

*ELEMENT_SEATBELT_RETRACTOR: Added to descriptions of SID1, SID2, SID3, SID4, and DSID that they refer to *ELEMENT_SEATBELT_SENSORs. Also, added this information to Remark 5.

*FREQUENCY_DOMAIN_FRF: Added clarification to N1TYP = 9 and 10 (on Cards 1a and 6) that they are only supported for VAD1 = 4.

*FREQUENCY_DOMAIN_SSD: Added clarification to NTYP = 9 and 10 on Card 7 that they are only supported for VAD = 2.
